When you hear about injured veterans from war, the last thing you will expect to see is a provocative and revealing photo shoot that doesn’t leave much room for the imagination. But that’s exactly what happened. Even though many veterans have endured severe injuries while serving in the military, one fine arts photographer has demonstrated how confident and appealing they may still feel.
Michael Stokes is a very talented fine arts photographer in the state of California. He takes a turn with his brand-new line on Veteran Portrait photography, which involves taking extremely powerful photos and bringing out the confidence in the sexiest forms of these veterans while they pose proudly with their amputated body parts and prosthetics. Michael Stokes is known for his work in the field.
The idea for the initiative was conceived by Alex Minsky, a United States Marine whose leg was severed in 2009 after he was injured by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan. Other veterans started to sign up for the photograph when Minsky established the tone for a positive and proud image rather than a melancholy one, which led to the publication of a book by Stokes titled “Always Loyal.”
MTV was also informed by Stokes. “There are others who come up to me and tell me things like, ‘Oh, this is really helpful to their self-esteem,’ or ‘you’re helping them feel like men again.'” Where the stokes made their response. These individuals have presented themselves to me quite well healed and prepared to take on the world. They shouldn’t put their trust in me since I won’t treat it with respect. They are already in possession of it.”
