Lance Phan, the 3D designer behind some of the most amazing digital cartoon character transformations, says, “It started off as practice, and I requested people’s permission to experiment on their photographs,” he tells the New York Times.
And because of that, I’m always looking for new ways to make the process easier, especially with the hair,” says Lance. Strangers who post photos on Phan’s Instagram or Facebook are mocked by Lance.
Since girls typically send me photos in which they are the main focus, “It’s easy to discover a viable picture,” Lance says. “Girls aren’t all created equal. It will take a long time to finish just one photograph because there are so many products and individuals. Getting a positive impression of a person like him is not easy.”
