Artist Creates Wooden Giants And Hides Them In Denmark’s Wilderness

Introducing Thomas Dambo, an exceptional Danish artist renowned for his extraordinary creations using recycled materials.

With a remarkable span of 7 years, he has adorned various locations worldwide with his immense recycled sculptures. However, his latest endeavor brings his talent closer to home, as he unveils six hidden giants within his beloved city of Copenhagen.

When asked about his motivation behind these sculptures, Thomas shares, “I deliberately placed them in less frequented corners of the city, off the well-trodden paths.” To discover these hidden gems, one must rely on a treasure map or decipher a poetic inscription etched into a nearby stone, providing cryptic clues to locate each giant.

What makes Thomas’ art even more remarkable is his dedication to using recycled wood as his primary medium. A remarkable 600 old pallets, along with materials salvaged from an ancient wooden shed and a fence, were transformed into awe-inspiring sculptures. Notably, each sculpture bears the name of a local volunteer who generously contributed to its creation.
