Tourists Rescued After Following GPS Directions Straight Into The Sea

0

After purportedly following their GPS guidance and entering Honokohau Harbor in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, two tourists had to be rescued.

A yacht crew had to respond quickly to save the two, who were happily unharmed in the incident, as witnessed by onlooker Christie Hutchinson. Here’s how it transpired.

Two guys are seen in the video tying a rope to the silver Chrysler Town & Country, from which it is easy to deduce that the visitors will not be receiving their security deposit returned.

Their rapid thinking was in vain, though, as the car plunges into the ocean as Christie can be heard stating, “Pretty sure that wasn’t supposed to happen.” You’re probably right, buddy, in my opinion.

A number of people jump into the water to assist in saving the two, who are seen perched on the open windows of the sinking silver van as it rapidly submerges.

As several men attempt to fasten ropes to the back of the vehicle in order to bring it back to dry land, the kind-hearted Christie also offers up her assistance in “any capacity.”

The two appear to be quite unconcerned about the situation despite the growing water levels, almost as if they regularly submerge their motor in it.

One man can be seen swimming over as the water level rises, saving the woman from the car, and taking her safely back to the harbor.

The Chrysler gradually dips beneath the sea, with a final burst of bubbles coming to the top, while our two tourists may have managed to leave the vehicle unharmed. When you need Celine Dion to roar out a few bars, where is she?

In a statement to Storyful, Christie described the incident’s origins: “I was just sitting there trying to seek shelter from the rain when the next thing I saw was a car drive past our boat and straight into the harbor at a pretty decent speed.”

The passengers had been following their GPS directions when they made a false turn into the sea. They were tourists looking for a Manta Ray Snorkel tour firm in the harbor, she continued.

“I believe they simply must have briefly taken their eyes off the road.” I believe you might be correct.
