“Traveling to Guatemala to eat pizza cooked on an active volcano. Ok so maybe we didn’t travel there just for that, but it was a fun bonus,” the caption playfully stated.

The special pizza, aptly named “Pizza Pacaya,” drew admiration, and Blodgett offered valuable suggestions to those planning to explore the region.

“This volcano is active! The last significant eruption was in 2021. It gets WINDY and cold up there, so make sure you bring layers!” she advised.

The pizza featured in the clip looked as delectable as one prepared in an authentic Italian restaurant’s wood-fired oven. Surrounded by blackened rocks on the volcano’s slope, the blogger relished the cheesy and tangy flavors while taking in the breathtaking vistas of the country from above the active volcano. Using a massive pumice boulder as her makeshift table, she embraced this unique dining experience.

While many were awestruck by the adventure, some expressed concerns about the area’s safety. Questions arose about the air quality near the active volcano, as well as worries about the safety of both the local residents and tourists.

The video sparked a flurry of comments, with many users finding it hard to believe what they had witnessed. One user mentioned that a similar pizza attempt had been made in 2022.

“One semester of introduction to earth science told me all I needed to know that this is an incredibly dangerous idea but…” one user wrote.

“Did this in 2022, the pizza is actually so good,” another user chimed in.

Blodgett’s escapade has undoubtedly left a lasting impression on those who witnessed it, offering a unique blend of culinary delight and breathtaking natural wonders that only a place like Guatemala can provide.
